Kian Edalat juxtaposes different animation techniques and blends hand-drawn abstract paintings/drawings with digital 3D forms to create digital works. Distorting 3D models, experimenting with new forms, improvising unusual rigging methods to disrupt models proportion are few methods he has incorporated into his works.

His project 'while’ depicts his inspiration from the modernist abstract movement and his passion for the new technologies.

Holding an MA in Animation from Kingston University London, he is a self-taught artist with a background as a software engineer, a role that informs his exploration of the intersection between art and technology.

Shows include the 2017 member’s show selected by Andy Holden at Outpost gallery, Norwich, England and 165 annual open exhibition at Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, England.

Kian Edalat lives and works in London, UK.
